Gov’t Mule is headed back down to Jamaica for another week of fun in the sun at Island Exodus 15. Hosted by the venerable blues-jam band, Mule and its fans will take over the Jewel Paradise Cove Resort in Runaway Bay, Jamaica from January 19th—23rd, 2025.
Mule will perform three full two-set shows on the beach, in addition to a special afternoon solo set by Grammy-winning frontman Warren Haynes. The lineup also includes seminal Southern rockers Drive-By Truckers, ever-rising psych-jam bassist Karina Rykman, and Canadian reggae-rock outfit Big Sugar, who will all perform two sets. Saxophonist and frequent Mule collaborator Ron Holloway will be on hand all week as a special guest.
“We’re excited to return to Jamaica for our 15th Island Exodus,” Haynes said. “This is always such a special experience so this year, we handpicked a lineup featuring talented friends of ours and artists that share a connection with Gov’t Mule. We have a long history with Drive-By Truckers, dating back to 2002, shortly after the release of their Southern Rock Opera record, when they opened for Mule’s fall tour. We haven’t had an opportunity to play together in a long time so that will be fun. Our connection to Big Sugar goes back even further – all the way to the start of Gov’t Mule in the mid-90s. So with Mule celebrating our 30th anniversary this year, we had to have those guys out there on the sand with us. Karina Rykman and her band played last year’s Christmas Jam and we knew right then and there that we needed to have them in Jamaica. And then, of course, we can’t have an Island Exodus without Ron Holloway!”

Island Exodus 14 attendees will have first access to a pre-sale for next year’s event beginning Tuesday, June 18th followed by all other Island Exodus attendees on Wednesday, June 19th at 12 p.m. ET and the general public on Thursday, June 20th at 12 p.m. ET. Packages include four nights at either the all-inclusive Jewel Paradise Cove & Spa Runaway Bay or the Bahia Principe Luxury, a limited edition 3D event poster signed by the members of Gov’t Mule and others, and airport transportation. Guests will have access to an array of activities including a Warren Haynes Q&A, a Fan Jam hosted by Ron Holloway, a corn hole tournament, tie-dying on the beach, yoga with Bubba, and more. Currently, Island Exodus 15 is the only gig on the Gov’t Mule calendar. This summer, Haynes is instead hitting the road with his newly reactivated and revamped Warren Haynes Band, featuring longtime collaborator John Medeski (keys), Gov’t Mule bassist Kevin Scott, veteran WHB member Terence Higgins, and Greg Osby (sax). The Warren Haynes Band kicks off its tour this month in Europe, followed by a stretch of dates on Slash‘s traveling S.E.R.P.E.N.T. Festival, before Haynes executes a run of The Dreams & Songs Symphonic Experience shows assisted by an orchestra as he delivers favorites from Mule, his solo catalog, the Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers Band, and more.
