After returning to the stage back in April, founding Allman Brothers Band drummer Jaimoe is going back out on the road for a string of four concerts. The shows with celebrated ABB tribute act Friends of the Brothers include an 80th birthday celebration for the seminal Southern rock group’s last surviving member.

Jaimoe returned to live performing on April 27th for a show at the SHU Community Theater in Fairfield, CT for a tribute to his late bandmate Dickey Betts, who passed away at the age of 80 earlier that month. Prior to the Fairfield show, Jaimoe had not taken the stage since January 2023.

The newly announced run of Jaimoe shows with Friends of the Brothers begins on June 23rd at City Winery in New York, NY. The ensemble will travel the following month to The Kewsick Theatre in Glenside, PA on July 11th ahead of Jaimoe’s 80th birthday celebration at The Ridgefield Playhouse in Ridgefield, CT on July 24th. The run then comes to a close on August 9th with a show at The Vogel in Red Bank, NJ.

For these shows, Jaimoe will team up with the venerable Friends of the Brothers. The dutiful tribute to the Allman Brothers Band features musicians from throughout the band’s orbit, including Junior Mack who fronted Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band for 15 years, Andy Aledort who toured as a member of Dickey Betts Band and Great Northern for a decade, and Alan Paul who wrote two definitive biographies on the Allman Brothers. Jaimoe wrote the afterword for Paul’s 2014 history of the band, One Way Out: The Inside History of the Allman Brothers Band.

“We love Jaimoe as a person and as a musician and are so honored that he chose us to return to the stage with,” Paul said. “But, most of all, like all Allman Brothers Band fans, we are thrilled that he is back out there performing! Above and beyond everything, Jaimoe is a monster drummer with a totally unique perspective and style. There’s a reason he was the first person Duane Allman asked to join his band! The world needs more Jaimoe!”

Tickets for all the Friends of the Brothers shows with Jaimoe are on sale now via the band’s website.
