The two-time Grammy Award-winning Hip-hop icon LL COOL J is back with a bang. He released his new single “Saturday Night Special” featuring Rick Ross and Fat Joe via Def Jam Recordings and Virgin Music Group.
The single features an innovative sound from producer Q-Tip, who is also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. LL COOL J, Rick Ross and Fat Joe rap about the harsh realities of life and the unwritten rules that govern it. Named after the revolver, “Saturday Night Special” highlights different types of hustlers, such as the “greedy killer” and the “brave man.”

The main message of the song revolves around trust and mutual respect in the midst of turmoil. The black and white music video complements the touching theme of the song. It was filmed in Miami, Florida and features LL COOL J, Fat Joe and Rick Ross.

“This single features LL COOL J’s upcoming 14th studio album, The FORCE (Frequencies of Real Creative Energy), which will be released this fall after more than a decade. The album is produced by Q-Tip and celebrates the 40th anniversary of Def Jam Recordings. As LL COOL J was the label’s first release, his return is a significant celebration of Def Jam’s legacy.
