In celebration of its seven-year anniversary, Maker Park Radio will host an Outdoor music festival in Staten Island.

Maker Park is not only a radio but it’s also a collaborative community space for Staten Island. Volunteers run MPR and listeners and sponsors fully support the radio. In 2017, Kristin Wallace founded the radio to provide a space for local artists to share their talents. The non-profit broadcasts from Makerspace NYC

Along with broadcasting, the DJs at MRP produce live music events in Maker Park and around Staten Island. The Radio station is free, and listeners can find the station on Facebook, YouTube, or the website.

Local band, A Place To Bury Strangers, will headline the anniversary show at makers park. Other bands performing are Lip Critic, Pons, King Like Mom, Modern Day Machines and Grandma Drinks.

A Place to Bury Strangers started in 2002 in NYC. They are a shoegaze rock band made up of Oliver Ackermann on vocals and guitar, Sandra Fedowitz on drums and John Fedowitz on bass. They currently are on their summer U.S.A tour and are known for loud performances.

Magician, Albert Cadabra and local tattoo artist, Magie Serpica will also be in attendance at the festival.

You can purchase the $15 tickets on eventbrite. For more information you can visit the Makers Park Radio website here.
