Phil Lesh is back with a new episode of his Terrapin Clubhouse Sessions featuring a fresh lineup that includes bluegrass musician and composer Peter Rowan on guitar and vocals.
Rowan, who played alongside Lesh’s Grateful Dead bandmate Jerry Garcia in his bluegrass outfit Old & In the Way, joins a band comprised of former Terrapin Crossroads regulars and other members of the extended Grateful Dead musical family—among them, Stu Allen, John Molo, Barry Sless, Holly Bowling, Elliott Peck, Jason Crosby, and Dan “Lebo” Lebowitz.
The band opens the session with Old & In the Way’s “Midnight Moonlight” before delving into the Robert Hunter/Jerry Garcia songbook with “Ripple”, followed by Rowan’s “Land of the Navajo”, and Dead classics “Dupree’s Diamond Blues” and “Dire Wolf”.
