ElephantProof paid a visit to the Garden State on Wednesday, stopping at The Homestead in Morristown, NJ for a rare headlining show.

The jam quartet comprised of former Goose drummer Ben Atkind and founding Goose keyboardist Chris Enright alongside Sean Cronin on guitar and Shon Gordon on bass has found a new groove since Atkind’s departure from Goose late last year. Originally founded in 2012 in Boston, where the four musicians initially crossed paths while attending Berklee College of Music, the band reunited in 2021 following a hiatus that saw each pursue their own musical path, with Atkind and Enright helping to lay the foundation for Goose’s rise to prominence.

EleaphantProof released its debut EP, EP EP, that same year. Since then, the group has performed sporadically, making every performance a special occurrence, though Atkind’s recent departure from Goose has left fans hoping for more regular performances from the band.

Atkind indicated the band “has big plans for 2024” back in March, adding, “We’re ironing out new material, booking new dates, and we can’t wait to visit new cities.”

On Wednesday, ElephantProof trampled the receptive Morristown crowd with support from another group named after an animal, NYC jam rock outfit Turtle Logic. Click below to view a gallery of photos from the show courtesy of photographer Ken Spielman.

The band still has only a few upcoming gigs on the books, including sets at Big Something‘s Big What? festival and Hulaween. For more info, click here, and to stay up to date, follow the band on Instagram or Facebook.
