Public Enemy, the Hip-Hop Revolutionaries, social rights activists and the Hall Of Fame Inductees have finally made the highly anticipated announcement of their return to Australia to start their new tour, this October. The tour’s name is “On The Grid 35th Anniversary Tour’. Australian Hip-Hop duo A.B. Original will also join them.
Public Enemy – ‘Lost At Birth’
The tour is going to begin on Wednesday, 2nd October at Perth’s Red Hill Auditorium, then they will move to AEC Theatre in Adelaide on Friday, 4th October then to John Cain Arena in Melbourne on Saturday, 5th October and then to Hordern Pavilion in Sydney on Monday, 9th October, and then to Newcastle Entertainment Centre on Wednesday,11th October, and then finally they are going to perform at Brisbane’s Eatons Hill Outdoors on Thursday,12th October.
Formed in 1985 in Long Island, New York, Public Enemy’s debut album was titled ‘Yo! Bum Rush The Show was released in 1987. Public Enemy was formed by friends Chuck D and Flavor Flav. Post the release of, ‘It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back’ in 1988 they got immense love and international fame and the audience was introduced to some magical experience in the form of music.
Apart from their immense contribution to the music industry, Public Enemy has also done a lot for society and the people around them. They were and are still standing at the front to fight against social and racial injustice and inequality by using their musical platform and popularity to raise awareness about the problems on a global level.
