Heavy-metal harlequins Tenacious D will traverse the battleground states ahead of the 2024 U.S. presidential election on the Rock the Vote Tour. The five-show swing through the Midwest will mark Jack Black and Kyle Gass‘ only domestic shows of 2024.
The Rock the Vote Tour will visit the swing states beginning October 21st in Columbus, OH. Tenacious D will rock on for shows in Bloomington, IN (10/22), Madison, WI (10/23), and Kalamazoo, MI (10/25) before wrapping in State College, PA (10/26). These shows precede the presidential election on Tuesday, November 5th.
Proceeds from tickets to the Tenacious D Rock the Vote Tour will support the non-partisan, non-profit voters rights organization of the same name, supporting voter registration, education, and rights. This marks the D’s latest collaboration with Rock the Vote after a one-off 2022 benefit concert in Philadelphia and a 2020 cover of The Rocky Horror Picture Show‘s “Time Warp” featuring Phoebe Bridgers, Reggie Watts, Pete Buttigieg, Jamie Lee Curtis, and others. The band had planned the Purple Nurple Tour in swing states ahead of the 2020 election but was forced to cancel due to the pandemic.
A ticket pre-sale is now open for the Rock the Vote Tour using the code LIBERTY. Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, June 28th at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster.
