Recently, making waves with her fourth LP, “C, XOXO,” Camila Cabello came into the spotlight again by supporting Drake in his recent beef with Kendrick Lamar.
In an interview with SundayTimes, Camila Cabello said of Drake, who was at the time embroiled in a very public beef with Lamar: “He is such a delight. It’s so frustrating to see people talk about someone you know in a way that is negative. You’re like, ‘Dang, if only you guys could just have dinner or something.’”

Camila Cabello explained the initial journey of the collaboration, which she wrote to Drake on Instagram. “It’s like a weird teenage thing where I feel that nobody cares about me or likes me. And it was fun to be proven wrong,” she said.
Camila also told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe show that they split the songs into two because Drake didn’t need to provide an outro, but she wanted to avoid an abrupt transition. “For me, it’s like I don’t want to hear a song like ‘Hot Uptown’ and then have it go into this one-minute thing where he is talking his shit, so we decided just to make it another song.” There has been no small talk about Drake and Lamar’s beef, mainly since the two lyricists went head to head in a significant way; Lamar came out on top, scoring himself a No. 1 record and a major concert at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum arena.
