eggy announces waiting game 2024 fall tour behind new album

Eggy will take its new album on the road with the Waiting Game 2024 fall tour. The 16-date run of shows, set to traverse Texas, Colorado, the Southeast, and more with a mix of festival appearances and headlining performances, will follow the September 6th release of Waiting Game, Eggy’s sophomore studio effort.

The tour will begin with an “evening with” Eggy at Dallas, TX’s The Echo Music Hall on October 3rd ahead of the band’s first of two appearances at Austin, TX’s Austin City Limits Festival (10/4). After stopping at Gretna, LA’s Gretna Heritage Festival (10/5) and Eureka Springs, AR’s Hillberry Music Festival (10/6) and mounting another no-support headlining play at Houston, TX’s Last Concert Cafe (10/10), Eggy will return to Austin to play the second weekend of ACL (10/11).

From there, Eggy will link up with L.A. psych-rock quartet Color Green for shows at Santa Fe, NM’s Meow Wolf (10/16), Buena Vista, CO’s Ivy Room (10/17), Fort Collins, CO’s Aggie Theatre (10/18), Denver, CO’s Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom (10/19), and Des Moines, IA’s Wooly’s (10/22). After Eggy makes its return to Live Oak, FL’s Suwannee Hulaween (10/25), the Waiting Game tour will continue on to Birmingham, AL (10/26) and Nashville, TN (10/27) ahead of a Halloween show at Atlanta, GA’s Terminal West (10/31). The tour will finally come to a close on November 1st at Louisville, KY’s Headliners Music Hall, where local-favorite jam-drone outfit Houseplant will serve as support.

A pre-sale for tickets to the Eggy Waiting Game fall tour begins Wednesday, July 24th at 10:00 a.m. local time. Fans can sign up for pre-sale access on the band’s website. Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, July 25th at 10:00 a.m. local time. See below for a list of new tour dates.

Eggy recently released the third Waiting Game single, “Gentle Clown“, which follows previous tracks “A Moment’s Notice” and “Laurel“. Waiting Game is an apt title for the fans who have waited half a decade for the follow-up to the band’s first studio effort, Watercolor Days, all while watching the Connecticut quartet ascend to larger venues and climb festival lineups. The singles released so far expand beyond Eggy’s known improvisation-focused rock, unafraid of embracing pop influences and keen to explore elements of R&B, folk, indie, and Americana.

In our recently published feature, On Tour With Eggy: Waiting Game, Live For Live Music’s editor-in-chief hops in the van with Eggy for a run of four shows in six days among the 115 gigs on the band’s 2023 schedule. During their time on the road together, he watches the members of Eggy navigate an exciting yet disorienting inflection point in any success story: the moment when your actions and intentions begin to ripple beyond your reach.

“When I listen to these songs,” guitarist Jake Brownstein tells Live For Live Music of the forthcoming album in the piece, “I remember not leaving this four-block radius and living in the studio for weeks, and the conversations that we had, and the nights that we would stay up and listen to it, or come up with new parts. It’s visual for me. There’s a whole moment in my life that that album represents.” Read the full feature here.
