King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have announced the coming release of their latest studio album, FLIGHT b741, due to arrive on August 9th, 2024.
In a post on social media on Monday, guitarist/vocalist Stu Mackenzie laid out the release schedule for the new album, revealed the titles and order of its 10 tracks, and showed off its Jason Galea-designed cover art—which depicts eight pigs riding a makeshift pigsty/old-time-y airplane hybrid vehicle through the sky (?).
“Been working real hard on this one,” Mackenzie added. “So excited for you all to hear it! … Thanks for flying … Love, stu xo.”

The first single from the new King Gizzard & The Lizard wizard album is set to arrive on July 9th alongside a music video by familiar collaborator Guy Tyzack (“Black Hot Soup”). The album announcement did not reveal which of the ten tracks would arrive first, though it did name them all: “Mirage City”, “Antarctica”, “Raw Feel”, “Field of Vision”, “Hog Calling Contest”, “Le Risque”, “Flight b741”, “Sad Pilot”, “Rats In The Sky”, and “Daily Blues”.
FLIGHT b741 will mark the first new studio album from King Gizzard since last October’s synth-focused The Silver Cord—an unusually long break between releases for the prolific Australian psych-rockers, who often release multiple albums spanning various genres and approaches each year.
