Kitchen Dwellers have issued an update explaining that mandolinist Shawn Swain will sit out the band’s upcoming shows as he continues to recover from a pulmonary embolism he suffered earlier this year.
The band went on to name Seth Yokel from High Country Hustle as Swain’s temporary replacement for the Dwellers’ July tour from the 3rd–7th. Yokel previously filled in for Swain during Kitchen Dwellers’ May tour dates.

Hey folks – we wanted to provide you with an update on how our brother Shawn is doing. As you know, Shawn experienced a pulmonary embolism back in May and had to sit out for a few tour dates. While he is doing and feeling much better since then, his recovery is still in process and it will take some time until he’s back at 100%. With that in mind, Shawn will be sitting out for our upcoming July tour from 7/3 – 7/13. Our dear friend Seth Yokel from High Country Hustle will be filling in on mandolin for the entirety of those dates. We ask that you continue to keep Shawn in your thoughts as we all wish him the best on his path to recovery.
Kitchen Dwellers are set to travel to Alaska later this summer for Salmonfest and are booked to play a number of festivals including JamPacked Craft Beer & Music Festival, Bender Jamboree, Annapolis Baygrass Music Festival, Strings & Sol.
