Widespread Panic has canceled upcoming three-night runs in Boston and Las Vegas scheduled for August and September. This news comes after guitarist Jimmy Herring was recently diagnosed with stage one tonsil cancer, with the band announcing that he will begin treatment immediately.

“The Band regrets missing these two runs but wants to give enough fair warning so everyone can adjust their plans with as little inconvenience as possible,” Widespread Panic wrote on social media.

The band was due to perform at the MGM Music Hall at Fenway in Boston on August 20th, 21st, and 22nd, marking Panic’s first trip to Beantown in nine years. Then in September, Widespread Panic was scheduled to stage its third-annual weekend run at The Theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas on September 20th, 21st, and 22nd. Refunds will be automatically issued from the point of purchase, there is nothing ticketholders need to do.

Herring, John BellDave SchoolsJoJo HermannDuane Trucks, and Sunny Ortiz were due to perform three nights in Asheville, NC this weekend, but canceled the shows in the wake of Jimmy’s diagnosis. The band still has a sold-out three-night run in Milwaukee, WI (10/25–10/27) and a two-night Halloween celebration in Savannah, GA (11/1–11/2) left on the calendar.
