Country singer-songwriter Zach Bryan returned to Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA on Wednesday for his second show at the home of the NFL’s New England Patriots in two months. Now deep into the Quittin’ Time Tour, it has been somewhat shocking to see him fill stadiums given how far the plain-spoken 28-year-old is from the stereotypical mass-appeal stadium act.
Bryan completely disrupted the pop-country scene with his self-titled 2023 album racking up billions of streams and charting on mainstream country radio—all without a traditional radio-friendly hit. Back at Gillette for another sold-out show for over 65,000 fans, he played two-plus hours and 26 songs after The War and the Treaty warmed up the crowd for him.
The crowd sang along to every word so loud you might think you were at a Taylor Swift or Beyoncé show, rather than one by a Navy veteran with a modest five albums. But with a low-key stage and production setup—string lights running from the stage to the sound booth towers were the most lavish feature—Bryan leaned into The Great American Bar Scene vibe that has permeated his career. He’s just a normal guy who writes deeply beautiful lyrics and somehow got to the biggest venues in the country.
