Anderson .Paak has announced a limited edition vinyl release of his landmark Tiny Desk Concert from 2016, one of the most popular editions in the NPR-produced live performance series’ history. Per a press release, each copy of the vinyl release will also be signed by the charismatic singer/drummer/MC/bandleader himself.
When Anderson and company delivered their set behind Bob Boilen‘s desk in D.C. in 2016, they were in the process of promoting Malibu, .Paak’s second studio album. The Tiny Desk Concert became an instant sensation online, helping propel him to household name status and earn him a Best New Artist nomination at the 59th annual Grammy Awards the following year. His trajectory has continued to skyrocket from there (he now owns 8 Grammys on 13 nominations, among many other accolades).
The Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals Tiny Desk Concert has amassed more than 108 million views to date, ranking behind only the late Mac Miller‘s 2018 Tiny Desk Concert and Dua Lipa‘s pandemic-altered 2020 Tiny Desk (Home) Concert as the third-most-viewed video on the NPR Music YouTube channel.
