Dead Ahead will return to Riviera Cancun, Mexico in 2025 after a successful debut earlier this year with a lineup topped by members of Dead & Company and many special guests.
Few details have been revealed, but a post from Bob Weir and a message on the event website indicate the destination concert vacation will take place January 9th–13, 2025.
In January, Weir joined his Dead & Company bandmates Mickey Hart, Don Was, Jeff Chimenti, Oteil Burbridge, and Jay Lane along with Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi, Goose’s Rick Mitarotonda, Margo Price, and Sturgill Simpson for the inaugural Dead Ahead. The weekend also incldued performances by Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros featuring The Wolfpack, Mickey & The Mircales, who welcomed Derek Trucks and Jay Lane, and a night of celebrations of the Jerry Garcia Band featuring sets by Oteil & Friends and Lettuce, as well as sets from Orebolo, who welcomed Weir and Simpson, LP Giobbi, Sierra Hull, Brittney Spencer, Mt. Joy, who welcomed Goose’s Rick Mitarotonda, and Jaime Wyatt. Attendees also enjoyed a full itinerary of pool parties and the luxurious amenities offered by Moon Palace Resort.
