After 25 years of begging from fans, Noel and Liam Gallagher seem to be teasing an Oasis reunion.

A video graphic posted by Noel reads “27.08.24” before flashing “8am,” apparently indicating the time of an impending official announcement. The same graphic appeared on the screen at the end of Noel’s headlining performance at Reading Festival, where he dedicated the Oasis track “Half The World Away” to his brother. At the associated Leeds Festival, Noel added regarding the Oasis reunion remors, “It is very interesting init? It is a very interesting situation we’ve found ourselves in.”

The famously cantankerous brothers initially rocketed to fame at the forefront of the Britpop movement following the release of their 1994 debut album, Definitely Maybe. They have not performed together since tensions between them came to a head during a backstage brawl at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris in 2009, resulting in the band’s breakup. Fans have dreamed of a reunion ever since, but the odds seemed slim as both brothers have continued on to pursue successful solo careers—and throw public jabs at each other in the media.

Noel Gallagher stated in 2013, “If there is a reunion, I won’t be in it.” He later said that he would perform with the band for half a billion dollars in 2015, though the Gallagher brothers were reportedly on good terms at that time.

Nearly a decade later, Noel seems to have finally changed his tune. According to a Sunday Times report citing unnamed industry insiders, Oasis may be set for a reunion run next year, with shows at London’s Wembley Stadium and Manchester’s Heaton Park. The same article said that Wembley may be booked for ten dates, which would break the record of eight shows set by Taylor Swift earlier this year. There has also been speculation about the possibility of an Oasis headline set at Glastonbury.

“Heaton Park terrible venue for concerts”, one fan wrote on X, to which Liam cheekily responded, “See you down the front you big fanny. ”
