If you use Sony’s DualSense Edge controller, you’re used to customization: You can choose what each button on the controller does (minus L2 and R2), change the sensitivity of the sticks, and save different configurations to quickly swap between button layouts for different situations.
These settings are managed on your PS5, which makes sense. But while Sony lets you connect a DualSense Edge to your PC, you haven’t been able to customize these options from your computer. If you wanted to change any button configurations, you still needed to jump back to your PlayStation. There was a DualSense app for Windows, “Firmware updater for DualSense wireless controller,” but as the name implies, it’s main function was to let you update your controller’s firmware.
Luckily for DualSense Edge users, that’s changing today. On Tuesday, Sony announced a new PlayStation Accessories app for Windows, that will let you, the in the company’s words, “unleash the full customizable power of the DualSense Edge controller” on your PC.

The app lets you customize your DualSense Edge for PC play, including features like custom button assignments, adjustable stick sensitivity, settings for stick deadzones (the area of input that won’t be registered), trigger deadzone customization, and intensity options for vibration and trigger effects. Just as on PS5, you can create, adjust, and switch between custom controller profiles on your computer. If you prefer a layout for one game, and a different one for another, you can switch at any time.
To be clear, this app only lets you customize a DualSense Edge controller. The standard DualSense controller that ships with each PS5 will work with the app, but only for updating the controller’s firmware. DualSense Edge is Sony’s “pro” controller, and costs $199.99. (For comparison, a DualSense controller costs $69.99.)
PlayStation Accessories is launching at version 2.0.0.13. To use it, you’ll need to be running Windows 10 or Windows 11, with at least 250MB of free storage.
