Multi-talented Australian artist Tash Sultana doesn’t exactly need anyone to perform with them. Known for their early “one-person band” live shows featuring a variety of looped instruments, Tash has built a global following as a highly capable solo act. Despite that fact, Sultana seems to have one particular artist in their sights for some collaboration: John Mayer.

In a reel posted to Instagram, Sultana aims to goad Mayer into a collaboration via good old fashioned passive-aggressive peer pressure. As the reel’s text titles note over a video of the Australian guitarist playing a jazzy solo, “I am Tash Sultana. I have been playing guitar since the age of 3. I am also an independent artist with billions of streams and multi platinum selling records. I am a multi-instrumentalist who composes, arranges, engineers, produces EVERY work I’ve released. And yet I’m still awaiting a jam off with John Mayer. Tag that guy right here and let’s get it happening. It’s happening buddy.”

“You know the assignment people,” the caption reads. “TAG @johnmayer he’s sleeping on it.”

As of publication time 17 hours after the reel was posted to Instagram, nearly 1,500 people had commented in support of the proposed Tash Sultana-John Mayer face-off, many of them following Sultana’s instructions and tagging Mayer in their responses. John Mayer has yet to respond, but we’d bet he’ll chime in eventually if Sultana’s fans make enough noise. If you want to get in on the badgering, hit the post here and tag Mayer in the comments.

John Mayer has always been open to seemingly unlikely collaborations. While he made his name as a singer-songwriter in his own right, he has logged years of work playing the music of the Grateful Dead with Dead & Company and often works on recorded music with artists from various creative circles. He most recently worked with German electronic producer Zedd on “Automatic Yes” from the latter’s new album, Telos.
