It comes with an IP48 durability rating, offering better protection against dust and water. Expanding on existing features (like photo cleanup, real-time call translation, notes or website summarization, and initiating a Google search by circling items on the screen), the Galaxy Z Fold 6 also offers new capabilities, including turning selfies into watercolor portraits, holding a translated conversation using both screens in flex mode (bent halfway), and creating images from sketches. The camera continues to excel with its ability to display shot previews on the external screen for hands-free photography.
The phone’s split-screen feature could be pretty handy for multitasking, and its 4,000-mAh battery offers a decent battery life, but if you use the phone in tablet mode (7.6-inch screen) a lot, you’ll probably need to charge it sooner than you’d like. And, although the updated hinge mechanism in this model offers more flexibility for propping up the phone, making hands-free video watching or calls easier, the central crease remains, though it’s reportedly less noticeable than in earlier models.
The OnePlus Open offers similar features at a lower price of $1,299.99 (down from $1,699.99), making it a potential alternative for those interested in a foldable experience with comparable functionality.
