STS9 has announced the details of its adjusted 2024 New Year’s run. The year-ending celebration, which was initially scheduled to take place over two nights in Asheville, NC, has now been converted to a three-show engagement at New Orleans, LA on December 29th, 30th, and 31st.
The immersive live-electronic outfit was initially due to round out 2024 with a December 30th show at The Orange Peel followed by a New Year’s Eve performance at ExploreAsheville.Com Arena featuring Emancipator and EAZYBAKED. In the wake of Hurricane Helene, which devastated Asheville and its surrounding areas, much of the live music in the popular touring hub has stalled as focus in the area and beyond has shifted to disaster relief. STS9 also posted a curated list of organizations working in hurricane relief in the region and urged its fans to get involved.
The band announced on Wednesday that its New Year’s Run will now take place over the course of three days in New Orleans, a city uniquely attuned to the weight of hurricane recovery. The announcement noted that a portion of all ticket sales for the run will benefit Hurricane Helene relief efforts.
A Bandcamp pre-sale for the STS9 New Year’s run at New Orleans, LA’s The Joy Theater will begin on Monday, October 21st at 10:00 a.m. CT. A band mailing list pre-sale will follow on Tuesday, October 22nd and 10:00 a.m. CT. Remaining tickets will go on sale to the general public on Thursday, October 24th at 10:00 a.m. CT. Prior to the newly relocated New Orleans New Year’s run, STS9 will play a number of 2024 fall tour dates including a two-night run in Chicago, IL with special guest Lettuce this weekend (10/18, 10/19), a two-show stint in Austin, TX for Halloween (10/31, 11/1), and a pair of shows at Oakland, CA’s Fox Theater in November (11/15, 11/16).
