Days before the release of his new album with Warren Haynes Band, Million Voices Whisper, Warren Haynes shared an intimate studio session recorded live at The Power Station featuring solo takes on select tracks from the album.
The new Warren Haynes Band album showcases a lineup with some heavy-hitter instrumentalists, including John Medeski on keys, Terence Higgins on drums, and Kevin Scott on bass, plus contributions from Lukas Nelson, Jamey Johnson, and Haynes’ first studio collaboration with Derek Trucks since the guitarists toured together with the Allman Brothers Band, on a song that was initially co-written with Gregg Allman before he passed away in 2017. At the heart of the project, however, are Haynes’ powerful compositions. The depth of his songwriting—honed over the course of a remarkable, decades-long career in music—takes center stage in this intimate solo performance, offering fans a deeper look at some of the album’s most potent material before its release on November 1st.
Among the setlist are stripped-down renditions of “Back Where I Started”, “Till the Sun Comes Shining Through”, “From Here On Out”, and “Real, Real Love”, each of which is set to appear on Million Voices Whisper alongside previously released singles “This Life As We Know It” and “Day of Reckoning”, as well as a cover of Tammy Wynette‘s “Till I Can Make It On My Own” (which did not appear on the album’s tracklist in press materials).
