Vulfpeck Releases New Song, “Lonely Town”, From Upcoming Album [Listen]

156

Back in September, Vulfpeck announced their eighth studio release, Hill Climber, the follow-up to 2017’s Mr. Finish Linedue out December 7, 2018 (pre-order digital download here). Vulfpeck has consistently released a collection of studio recordings every year since their official inception in 2011. Along with the album’s announcement, Vulfpect released a pair of singles, “Lost My Treble Long Ago” and “Soft Parade”. Then, the band released their fourth version of “It Gets Funkier” featuring KNOWER’s Louis Cole on drums.

Today, Vulfpeck has shared “Lonely Town”, a new single featuring Vulf vocalist Theo Katzman on lead vocals and guitar, Jack Stratton on drums, Joe Dart on the “upright bass” a.k.a. electric bass on a vertical stand (so silly!!!), and Woody Goss on keys. Written and performed by Theo Katzman, “Lonely Town” is a sexy ode to loneliness that adds yet another light-hearted love song to the band’s growing repertoire. With perhaps the most “serious” lyrics in Vulfpeck’s catalog to date, the song distinctly belongs to Theo Katzman and perhaps reveals a trend of different “Towns” within the band’s world (see “Dean Town” and “Hero Town“).

Vulfpeck’s upcoming album, Hill Climber, will include ten total tracks including special guest collaborations with vocalist Monica Martin, vocalist Mike Viola, and multi-instrumentalist Louis Cole (KNOWER) and featured vocals from Theo Katzman and Antwaun Stanley.
