Any music fan who has attended Summer Camp Music Festival (now Solshine: A Music & Arts Reverie) over the years knows just how magical the Illinois festival can be. With multiple sets from both Umphrey’s McGee and moe., not to mention all the other incredible talent that comes through the Chillicothe event, Summer Camp has been a foundational exeperience for fans of live music as a staple of the North American festival circuit.
Today, August 11th, fans celebrate the birthdays of Umphrey’s guitarist Brendan Bayliss and moe. drummer Vinnie Amico. To celebrate both musicians on their birthdays as familiar faces of the jam scene, we revisited the Summer Camp archives to find the time when Bayliss and Amico joined moe. guitarist Chuck Garvey during his solo acoustic set at the 2012 event.
Revisit their performance of “Bell Bottom Blues” in addition to the fan interview segment of the performance below.
