Chris Stapleton‘s guitarist, Dave Cobb, couldn’t travel to New York City for the country star’s appearance on Tuesday’s The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon. Stapleton informed host Jimmy Fallon he needed a guitarist, so Fallon stepped up to join Chris and his band for the performance of “You Should Probably Leave” that aired last night.

“You Should Probably Leave” appears on Stapleton’s 2020 album, Starting Over, which was co-produced by Dave Cobb. Jimmy Fallon contributed harmony vocals, rhythm guitar work and a one-note solo to the fun performance. “We actually got on the phone and Facetimed last night, and [Chris] tried to teach me the lick and the chords of the song,” Fallon revealed and added, ‘I’m gonna try my best.”

Cobb was suffering from an earache and is expected to be fine but wasn’t able to fly. Jimmy cracked Chris up by singing the title as, “I should probably leave” towards the end of the song.
