Brittany Howard makes her Austin City Limits solo debut for the episode airing this Saturday, November 20 on PBS. JamBase is pleased to premiere exclusive video footage featuring the Grammy-winning musician’s performance of “History Repeats” from the upcoming episode.
Howard focuses on songs from her 2019 album Jaime for the hour-long installment as part of ACL’s Season 47. Brittany also works in Jackie Wilson, Beatles and Funkadelic covers. The appearance marks the 33-year-old performer’s third on the legendary live music television program. Howard previously hit the Austin City Limits stage fronting Alabama Shakes in 2012 and 2015.
“Brittany Howard has always had a voice like none other,” said ACL executive producer Terry Lickona, “and she’s a transformative artist who’s pushing that voice to new heights that take her songs to a new realm. It’s a joyous ride for all of us!”
The episode was taped at Austin’s Moody Theater on October 6. Jaime standout “History Repeats” is the penultimate tune of the 13-song ACL installment. Follow this link for region-specific Austin City Limits air times or watch at PBS.org right after the initial broadcast.
