Keanu Reeves just burnished his good guy reputation courtesy of a widely-circulated report that would make him one of the world’s most altruistic actors.

The Matrix star, who recently reprised his Neo/Thomas Anderson role in The Matrix Resurrections on HBO Max, donated 70 percent of his salary to leukemia research, according to Lad Bible.

Citing estimates from Distractify, the New York Post reports that Reeves’ charitable donation would be a whopping $31.5 million.

The actor received $10 million up front and another $35 million after the movie amassed $460 million at the box office, bringing his total Matrix earnings to an estimated $45 million.

Reeves’ sister Kim had been battling the blood cell cancer for nearly a decade when the blockbuster sci-fi flick arrived in theaters in 1999. Fortunately, she entered remission in 2001, reports the New York Post.

But Reeves quietly kept the cause close to his heart in the following years, creating a cancer charity that was live for years without attracting any attention.

“I have a private foundation that’s been running for five or six years, and it helps aid a couple of children’s hospitals and cancer research,” Reeves told Ladies Home Journal in 2009. “I don’t like to attach my name to it, I just let the foundation do what it does.”

More recently, Reeves auctioned off a one-on-one Zoom call date with all funds also going to children’s cancer research. The experience, organized by Idaho-based charity Camp Rainbow Gold, ultimately fetched over $19,000.

The last time Reeves was in the news for a good deed, it was for gifting custom Rolexes to his John Wick: Chapter Four stunt team.

But the actor’s massive reported leukemia charity donation, takes his famous generosity to a whole other level.
