The Who confirmed their 2022 North American Tour dates. The Who Hits Back! will find the band joined by local orchestras for both spring and fall runs.
Led by co-founding members Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend, the rest of The Who’s live band will consist of guitarist/vocalist Simon Townshend, keyboardists Loren Gold and Emily Marshall, bassist Jon Button, drummer Zak Starkey and backing vocalist Billy Nicholls. Keith Levenson will conduct each orchestra which will be augmented by lead violinist Katie Jacoby and lead cellist Audrey Snyder.
The Who will perform hits from throughout their career as well as songs from their latest studio album, 2019’s Who. “Pete and I said we’d be back, but we didn’t think we’d have to wait for two years for the privilege,” Roger Daltrey stated in a press release. “This is making the chance to perform feel even more special this time around. So many livelihoods have been impacted due to Covid, so we are thrilled to get everyone back together – the band, the crew and the fans. We’re gearing up for a great show that hits back in the only way The Who know how. By giving it everything we got.”
Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida will host the tour opener on April 22. The Who then continues a swing through Florida with shows in Jacksonville and Tampa before ending the month with an appearance at Jazz Fest in New Orleans on April 30. Next comes a trip through Texas for performances in Austin on May 3, Dallas on May 5 and The Woodlands on May 8. Additional spring dates will take place in Oklahoma City (May 10), Memphis (May 13), Cincinnati (May 15), Boston (May 18), Philadelphia (May 20), Washington D.C. (May 23) and New York City (May 26) before the leg closes in Bethel, New York (May 28).

From there the band hits Detroit (October 4); Belmont, New York (October 7); Columbus (October 9); Chicago (October 12); St. Louis (October 14); Denver (October 17); Portland, Oregon (October 20); Seattle (October 22); Sacramento (October 26); Anaheim (October 28); Los Angeles (November 1) and Las Vegas (November 4, 5).
