The one true Boognish returned to possess The Capitol Theatre on Sunday as Ween finished out its three-night run in Port Chester, NY. The final show of the weekend saw Dean and Gene Ween take “Suckin’ Blood From The Devil’s Dick” off the shelf for the first time since 1995.

Sunday’s show arrived in all its Browness as the band got the party started with “Fiesta”. More classics ensued with “Captain Fantasy” and a hard-hitting “The Grobe”. Ween kept on rattling them off with favorites “Bananas and Blow” and “Roses Are Free”, with Deaner taking the mic for “Sorry Charlie”. Further on down the road, the band succumbed to the overwhelming demand for “Suckin’ Blood”. The song, included on the band’s 1999 mp3 only album Craters of the Sac, hadn’t been performed live since 6/3/95 in New Hope, PA, per Brownbase.

From his vocal chord-shredding shouting to the incendiary guitar solo, those two minutes of “Devil’s Dick” belonged solely to Dean Ween. He somehow retained his voice for the following “Big Jilm” ahead of Gene’s opus of “The Argus”. Later on, “Springtheme” allowed more spotlight time for the man born Mickey Melchiondo, followed by the Floydian ambiance of “Did You See Me?”.

Ween continued to power through the set with favorites “The Goin’ Gets Tough From the Getgo”, “Stroker Ace”, and “Puerto Rican Power” before it was time for the acoustic portion of the evening. Gener brought out his acoustic for runs through “Trued and True”, “What Deaner Was Talkin’ About”, and “Stay Forever” while Deaner held onto the Fender Stratocaster that was born into his hands.

The set came to a close with the first “If You Could Save Yourself (You’d Save Us All)” since 6/6/18. Returning to the stage, Ween delivered one of the band’s many signature songs “You Fucked Up” before “Poopship Destroyer” closed the show.
