The Sacred Rose music festival makes it debut at SeatGeek Stadium in the Chicago suburb of Bridgeview, Illinois on August 26 – 28. Tickets for Sacred Rose 2022 are on sale now through Front Gate Tickets.

The Disco Biscuitsare among the acts on the impressive inaugural Sacred Rose lineup. In advance of their performance, Bisco curated the “We Like To Party” playlist featuring their favorite Sacred Rose performers. The members of the band shared a statement regarding the festival and the playlist, telling JamBase:

We’re excited to be on the lineup for the first edition of the Sacred Rose festival. The spirit that fuels the live music community are these summer festivals — as a band, we are fueled by the opportunities offered at these events for collaboration and fellowship with fans and fellow performers alike. The Sacred Rose lineup is, in a word, STACKED. We’re out here this summer playing a ton of other shows and, while we’re on the road, this thing has inspired our summer soundtrack. So we put it all together in a playlist to share with you. Just like Sacred Rose itself, there’s something here for everyone. Enjoy!

Compiled by bassist Marc Brownstein, guitarist Jon Gutwillig, keyboardist Aron Magner and drummer Allen Aucoin, the “We Like To Party” playlist intersperses the Disco Biscuits tracks alongside ones by other artists on the Sacred Rose lineup. The 50-song collection begins with Sacred Rose headliner Phil Lesh & Friends. The Grateful Dead bassist will be playing a special PHILCO set at Sacred Rose with Wilco members Jeff Tweedy and Nels Cline joining the Phil & Friends lineup.

The playlist also features the Disco Biscuits playing with Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann’s Billy & The Kids project that includes Magner on keys. Other representatives of the jam scene chosen for the playlist include Umphrey’s McGee, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Goose, Lotus, Lettuce and STS9. The band also picked several bluegrass and Americana acts on the Sacred Rose lineup to showcase on the playlist, including Greensky Bluegrass, Molly Tuttle, The Infamous String Dusters, Punch Brothers, Black Pumas, The Wood Brothers and artist-at-large Margo Price.

The Disco Biscuits also bring the groove, and their “We Like To Party” playlist delivers with tracks by the likes of Khruangbin, Hiatus Kaiyote, Dinner Party, Cory Wong with Chromeo, Yves Tumor, City And Colour and Animal Collective. You can also stream tracks by additional Sacred Rose artists chosen by Bisco for the playlist such as The War On Drugs, St. Paul & The Broken Bones, Dawes and Moon Taxi.

While most of the Disco Biscuits selections on the playlist were pulled from their live recordings, the quartet also added their three recently released studio singles “M1,” “Evolve” and “Lake Shore Drive.” Giving the playlist its name is another studio cut, “We Like To Party,” from their 2011 album Otherwise Law Abiding Citizens. Those can be streamed alongside jammed-out live favorites like “Spacebirdmatingcall,” “Magellan,” “House Dog Party Favor” and a cover of Pink Floyd’s “Run Like Hell,” among others.
