Fiddler Allie Kral announced her departure from the Yonder Mountain String Band to focus on her family, mental health and wellness. The jamgrass group will continue on with special guests stepping in for Kral over the remainder of the year.

“It is with a heavy heart that I write to inform you my time with Yonder has come to an end,” noted Allie Kral in a statement posted on her social feeds. “I need to focus more on my family and my mental health and wellness,” Kral added. “The touring life is both magical and challenging in the best of times, and being able to continue at my own pace will support me in this.”

Kral officially joined Yonder Mountain String Band in 2015. Allie started touring with the group the previous year after YMSB parted ways with Jeff Austin.

“Allie Kral is our sister, we love her and we support her in her decision to prioritize her family and her mental health,” wrote Yonder Mountain String Band in a note of their own posted on social media. “We look forward to playing music in the future together when the opportunities are there. We wish her the very best!”

Jake Simpson of The Lil Smokies will be the first fiddler to step in for Kral. Simpson will join Yonder Mountain String Band between August 17 and September 3. Additional special guest announcements are forthcoming.
