Tedeschi Trucks Band were featured on Monday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. The 12-piece ensemble led by Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks played “Soul Sweet Song” for the broadcast and performed three songs off-air for a session that was shared on the talk show’s YouTube channel.
All four songs come from the TTB’s ambitious I Am The Moon album series. The project consists of 24 songs spread across four studio albums with the first three volumes released between June 3 and July 29. I Am The Moon: Episode IV. Farewell arrives this Friday, August 26. An accompanying film directed by Alix Lambert premieres tonight at 9 p.m. ET here.

“Soul Sweet Song” was penned in honor of late Tedeschi Trucks Band keyboardist Kofi Burbridge. The cut appears on Farewell with “Soul Sweet Song” released as a single earlier this month to preview the six-song collection. TTB vocalist and keyboardist Gabe Dixon co-wrote the Kofi tribute.
Tedeschi Trucks Band’s off-air session for Jimmy Kimmel Live began with Susan Tedeschi leading the group through I Am The Moon: Episode II. Ascension opener “Playing With My Emotions.” Ascension is also represented by the soul-laced “La Di Da.” The TTB closed out the 15-minute set with “I Am The Moon,” the project’s title track featured on I Am The Moon: Episode I. Crescent with Tedeschi and Dixon sharing lead vocal duties.
