See Dark Star Orchestra’s Jeff Mattson Join Los Lobos For Powerful ‘Dear Mr. Fantasy’ In New York City

Los Lobos continued their run at City Winery New York on Tuesday. The renowned rockers welcomed Dark Star Orchestra guitarist Jeff Mattson for a cover of “Dear Mr. Fantasy.”

Los Lobos has been on an extended, multi-city residency of City Winery venues beginning in Chicago then on to Boston and now New York. Tuesday marked the second of three nights in NYC, which saw Los Lobos delivering originals but also going heavy on covers — among them the Traffic classic “Dear Mr. Fantasy” to close the second set. The East Los Angeles-based band last played the song from Traffic’s 1968 album Mr. Fantasy on October 30, 2020 as per Setlist.FM.
