Watch High School Percussion Band Perform Umphrey’s McGee’s ‘Plunger’

Ogden High School’s Advanced Percussion Ensemble recently performed at the Regional Solo and Ensemble Festival. The group of Ogden, Utah high schoolers performed an inspired instrumental arrangement of Umphrey’s McGee’s song “Plunger.”

UM debuted “Plunger” at their concert held on July 8, 2004, in Cincinnati, just days after it was released on their studio album, Anchor Drops. A staple of the band’s live shows, it’s appeared in more than 350 setlists since its debut.

The Ogden High Advanced Percussion Ensemble’s performance of “Plunger” caught the attention of Umphrey’s McGee, who took to social media to share their approval:
