Bootsy Collins continues the rollout of his Funk Not Fight project today by sharing the title track for his collaborative compilation album featuring rapper Baby Triggy and singer/rapper Fantaazma. The legendary funk bassist also recently launched his Funk Not Fight hub and anti-violence initiative at the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame in Cleveland in his home state of Ohio.

Bootsy announced his Funk Not Fight initiative last fall to celebrate his birthday. On Thursday, Collins came to the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame where he laid out plans for his Funk Not Fight hub in partnership with The Bootsy Collins Foundation and The Village (The Village Of Performing Arts and Culture and Center). Press materials detailed the Funk Not Fight hub:

The Funk Not Fight hub will exist within the Village, and will feature a variety of services including a music studio where young talent in the Cleveland area can explore creative passions that will lead them on the right path. Additionally, the hub will provide access to certified professionals that can guide and mentor local youths. With much more to be announced, as a part of Bootsy’s Funk Not Fight initiative. Collins also continues to release new music from his Funk Not Fight collaborative compilation album. The latest is the title track featuring Baby Triggy and Fantaazma. “Funk Not Fight” arrived with a music video that sees appearances by Bootsy’s fellow bassists Marcus Miller and Victor Wooten along with the Eurythmics’ Dave Stewart, Buckethead, Cindy Blackman and more.

“I just like to say, check out my latest video. Funk, not fight,” Bootsy said of his new release. “We just wanna calm down some of that violence out there. Cause y’all know that it ain’t right! Come on now. Jump on board. Let’s get the One! For being funk, and not fight. Yeah that’s right baby.”
