Phish revealed their October 29, 1994 show at Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium in Spartanburg, South Carolina will be officially released this Friday, May 26 via their Live Phish platform and app. The pending latest addition to the Live Phish Archives features a new multi-track mix of the two-set concert.
According to the Phish.com notes for the October 29, 1994 show:
This was Phish’s only show in Spartanburg. The venue was a multi-purpose auditorium with a capacity of 3,200. Tickets cost $18.50 and the show was sold out. In an attempt to misdirect Halloween rumors, the Spartanburg soundcheck was heavy on Led Zeppelin’s Physical Graffiti.
“Split Open And Melt” was unfinished and segued into the second-ever “Buffalo Bill,” which was played for the first time in almost two years (since November 21, 1992). Fish mentioned his new banana dress during “Bike.” “Sleeping Monkey” was sandwiched between sections of “Run Like An Antelope” for the first and only time. After this show the crew traveled 885 miles overnight to Glens Falls, New York for a day off before their Halloween show.
Phish archivist Kevin Shapiro announced the selection and spun tracks from the show during a special episode of From The Archives on SiriusXM’s Phish Radio on Monday afternoon. View the tracklist and song timings for the Live Phish Archive release of the band’s October 29, 1994 show below:
