This f—ing guy… Even after his 2017 Fyre Festival imploded in spectacular fashion, cementing his place as the poster boy for privilege-drunk scumbaggery and earning him an all-expenses-paid trip to prison on fraud charges, Billy McFarland has started selling tickets for Fyre Festival II, allegedly set to take place in 2024—and we said “allegedly” not because of his ample history of large-scale fraud, but because it doesn’t even have actual dates or a confirmed location. Per the ticketing site, it’s “targeted for the end of 2024” in “The Caribbean.”
“It has been the absolute wildest journey to get here,” McFarland said in a video posted to his Twitter (uh, X) account on Sunday, “and it really all started during a seventh-month stint in solitary confinement. I wrote out this 50-page plan of how [Fyre Festival II] would take this overall interest and demand in Fyre and how it would take my ability to bring people from around the world together to make the impossible happen, but how I would find the best partners in the world to allow me to be me while executing Fyre’s vision to he highest level.”

He added, always the slimy salesman, “Guys, this is your chance to get in. This is everything we’ve been working towards. Let’s f—ing go.” Brought to you by the same guy who responded to very real concerns from the original Fyre Festival staff about the event’s viability with, “Let’s just do it and be legends.” Right…
The first tier of pre-sale tickets to Fyre Festival II went on sale on Tuesday and quickly sold out, according to the convicted fraudster. As McFarland posted on social media, “Since 2016 FYRE has been the most talked about festival in the world. We now saw this convert to one of the highest priced GA pre-sales in the industry.” I mean, yeah, maybe, but that tier was 100 tickets at $500 a pop—a relatively small investment to get a first-row seat to Billy’s latest bad idea, whether or not the event actually happens.
As the pre-sale tiers on the Fyre Festival II ticketing page continue to unlock (each one currently reads “Coming Soon”), that price will get much higher, topping out at $7,999 a head for the final 50 slots. Even the people who end up dropping $8,000 on those last pre-sales likely won’t care if Fyre goes up in flames again. They’re probably even rooting for it. You’re right, Billy, Fyre might be the most talked-about festival in years, but that’s because it was an exquisite failure, the guy behind it was (is?) spectacularly delusional, and dumpster fires (fyres?) are hard to look away from. This is a “laughing at you,” not a “laughing with you” situation.
We all know you can hawk a grand idea, Billy, but following through and doing the thing you said you’d do? Yeah, we’re not betting on that.
