Gov’t Mule will mark 30 years since the band was formed in 2024. The group led by guitarist/vocalist Warren Haynes will start celebrating the milestone with a series of 30 Years Strong Tour dates next February.
Haynes and fellow co-founding member drummer Matt Abts are joined in the current Gov’t Mule lineup by longtime keyboardist/guitarist Danny Louis and recent addition bassist Kevin Scott. Warren and Matt started the group as a trio with bassist Allen Woody in 1994. Woody tragically died in 2000 at the age of 44.
“Hard to believe it’s been 30 years and Gov’t Mule is playing with a newfound energy. Thanks, in part, to our new bass player, Kevin Scott, who is doing a fantastic job,” stated Warren Haynes in a press release. “It’s going to be fun delving into our past for this tour while creating new music at the same time.”
Gov’t Mule launches the 30 Years Strong Tour in Vancouver on February 8. Haynes and company then hit Seattle and Portland (Oregon) before a swing through California for stops in Arcata, Los Angeles, Lincoln and Oakland. The tour continues in Las Vegas on February 18 and also features shows in Tucson, Albuquerque, Austin and San Antonio before wrapping up in Houston on February 25.
