Qualcomm is coming to CES—and it’s bringing a ton of AI. As generative AI moves into the on-device territory, the processor for your next smartphone will become quite important. Google and Apple are already leading the way by integrating dedicated Neural Processing Units, but Qualcomm wants to pull off something much bigger: a continuous generative AI experience for all of its chips.
At the CES 2024 event, you can expect a lot of talk about how the company will be integrating AI across its different verticals using the Snapdragon chips. Snapdragon powers devices ranging from smartphones and PCs all the way to cars and heavy vehicles.
On Wednesday, January 10th, from 2-3 PM PT, Qualcomm is hosting a keynote called “How We Will Interact with Our Devices in the AI Age” at the Palazzo Ballroom at the Venetian. Here, Cristiano Amon, the President and CEO of Qualcomm, will showcase the new technologies on their ARM chip. The focus, of course, will be on on-device generative AI and how it has the potential to profoundly impact how we interact with all of our devices.
What Qualcomm is promising is quite interesting. Snapdragon platforms will run generative AI, pervasively and continually bringing new kinds of user experiences that go beyond the silos of apps. How Qualcomm pulls this off, and how it works, we won’t know—that is, until we watch the Qualcomm CES Keynote Live. You can do this directly on CES’s live website, or you can tune in to Qualcomm’s YouTube channel. Their keynote link is already live, and you can also ask YouTube to notify you, so you don’t miss it.
