Me First & The Gimme Gimmes have announced an Australian tour for November 2024 – coming roughly 18 months after their previous visit in February 2023. For their upcoming Band of the Long Weekend tour, they will be joined on all dates by Dwarves – who are returning to Australia after over seven years, having last been in the country circa 2017 as part of Melbourne’s Cherry Rock festival.
Since Me First were last in Australia, the comedic punk supergroup and covers band have released a new studio album, their 11th overall: Me First & The Gimme Gimmes Blow it…at Madison’s Quinceañera! Released last month, the album is a spiritual successor to 2004’s Me First & The Gimme Gimmes Ruin Johnny’s Bar Mitzvah. Both are staged as live albums, with the band “performing” at the titular events with little to no crowd reception.

Dwarves, meanwhile, have released two studio albums since they were last in the country: 2018’s Radio Free Dwarves and 2023’s Concept Album. The band are currently at work on their new studio album, their 15th overall.
It is currently not known which line-up of the band – which features a revolving door of contributors – will be touring Australia on this run. However, Australian musicians such as Frenzal Rhomb‘s Lindsay McDougall and The Living End‘s Chris Cheney have previously sat in as honourary Gimmes.
