Warren Haynes will keep his revamped eponymous solo band on the road this fall with the newly announced Million Voices Whisper Tour. The run of 16 fall tour dates will come in support of Haynes’ new album with the ensemble, due out this fall. Like the ongoing Now is the Time Tour, the fall dates will include performances by Haynes’ new Dreams + Songs Symphonic Experience, featuring orchestral arrangements of songs from the Allman Brothers Band, the Grateful Dead, Warren’s solo catalog, and more.
The new run of tour dates kicks off on September 19th with a five-night swing through Florida, making stops in Ft. Lauderdale (9/19), Ft. Myers (9/20), Jacksonville (9/21), St. Petersburg (9/22), and Pensacola (9/23). The Million Voices Whisper Tour includes shows throughout the Southeast in Richmond, VA (9/26), Columbia, SC (9/23), and Salem, VA (9/29) along with concerts in Washington, D.C. (10/3) and Ashland, KY (10/4).
Warren Haynes Band will pull a doubleheader on Saturday, October 5th, playing an early set at Mempho Music Festival in Memphis before heading to Nashville for a show at the revered Ryman Auditorium. The tour will wind down in the Northeast with stops in Philadelphia (10/9), Syracuse (10/10), Port Chester, NY’s The Capitol Theatre (10/11), and finally the Orpheum Theatre in Boston (10/12).
Fan-club pre-sale tickets for the Warren Haynes Band Million Voices Whisper Tour will go on sale Wednesday, July 24th at noon local time. Local pre-sales will begin Thursday, July 25th at noon local time followed by the general on-sale on Friday, July 26th at noon. Warren Haynes relaunched the WHB last month with a run of shows in Europe and has since been out on the road with Slash‘s traveling S.E.R.P.E.N.T. Festival. For this tour, Haynes is playing beside Gov’t Mule bassist Kevin Scott, WHB veteran and two-time Grammy-winning drummer Terence Higgins, and saxophonist Greg Osby. Keyboardist John Medeski was on the original summer tour lineup but had to drop off due to prior commitments, so Haynes called up Matt Slocum (Sixpence None The Richer) to substitute. Medeski will be back with the band for the fall dates.
The tour announcement stated that details on Warren Haynes Band’s new album Million Voices Whisper are coming soon. In a recent interview with The Pitch, Haynes said they’re hoping to have the album out in late September or early October and that the band is including new material in its performances.
