Kneecap have announced they will tour Australia for the first time in March 2025. The Irish hip-hop trio, who rap in both Irish and English, recently released both their debut studio album Fine Art and their eponymous biopic – which screened at this year’s Sydney Film Festival. A full list of dates, as well as ticketing information, can be accessed below.

“Well here we come, all the way to Australia,” the trio wrote in a press statement announcing the tour. “Fuck me, we’ll be tunnelling for weeks. Following in the footsteps of the Fenians sent here by the Brits. This will be the furthest we’ve ever been from Belfast, so we’re buzzing for it to bring the Kneecap energy to the bottom of the world.”

Fine Art was released in June 2024, reaching number two on the Irish albums chart and number three on the Scottish album chart. Four singles were released from the album in the lead-up to its release: ‘Better Way To Live’ (featuring Fontaines D.C. frontman Grian Chatten), ‘Sick In The Head’, ‘Love Making’ (featuring Nino) and the title track.

Kneecap, meanwhile, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January. It stars the three members of the group – Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh (AKA Mo Chara), Naoise Ó Cairealláin (AKA Móglaí Bap) and J.J. Ó Dochartaigh (AKA DJ Próvaí), in a dramatised retelling of their origin story. The film also stars Michael Fassbender as Ó Cairealláin’s estranged father and This Is Going To Hurt star Josie Walker as a police detective (AKA a “peeler”). The film will receive a limited cinematic release in late August 2024, with updates on screenings available via Flicks.
