LonCon has announced the lineup for its 2024 festival, set to take place at LaFayette, NY’s Wonderland Forest on September 20th and 21st.
In addition to two nights of music by host band Big Shrimp, the recently restructured trio-turned-quartet formerly known as Baked Shrimp, the 2024 edition of LonCon will feature by Mihali, GANTZER, Sophistafunk, and Aliens Among Us featuring Ben Atkind (ElephantProof), Ryan Dempsey (Twiddle), Sam Lucid (Dogs In A Pile), and Jared Sage Cohen (Big Shrimp). Other acts on the lineup included an Organ Fairchild “Dead Set”, Annie in the Water, Escaper, Leon Trout, Mike Powell, Hilltop, and more.
On Thursday, September 19th, an official LonCon pre-party at the nearby Westcott Theater will host performances by Prince/Bowie Tribute featuring members of Twiddle, Pink Talking Fish, and Kung Fu with support from Cal Kehoe Band. Doey Joey will also host a late-night DJ set at Wonderland Forest to get fans moving early on the main festival grounds.
“We believe this lineup beautifully captures the connection of amazing talent and friendship among artists who have impacted the CrustNation community over the years,” Baked Shrimp said in a note shared along with the announcement.
LonCon is hosted in memory of the late Lon “Conscious” Gellman, a fixture in the Northeast jam scene who passed away unexpectedly in November 2020. Last year, Baked Shrimp named its sophomore album, Conscious, after the band’s departed friend. Per tradition, LonCon will donate $1 from every ticket sold to the 2024 festival to the Lon Conscious Gellman Scholarship Fund, which helps students in need of financial aid at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College.
