Dave Matthews Band made its semi-annual trip to the Denver area over the weekend for a two-night run at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre in Greenwood Village, CO. The concerts arrived at the tail end of DMB’s summer tour, set to wrap next weekend with the band’s annual Labor Day Weekend run at The Gorge Amphitheatre in George, WA.

Fiddler’s Green has been a semi-regular stop for Dave Matthews Band since 2015, with the band returning for two-night engagements in 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2022. Since last visiting Greenwood Village, DMB issued its tenth studio album, Walk Around the Moon. The setlists on Friday and Saturday, however, were fairly light on cuts from the latest disc with only the title track, “Madman’s Eyes”, “Monsters”, and “Break Free” appearing across the two nights—though the latter song dates back to 2006. Instead, Dave Matthews Band highlighted hits and deep cuts alike from throughout its 33-year career, from chart-topper “Crash Into Me” and staples “Ants Marching” and “The Space Between” to old favorite “Joyride” which made its first appearance since last year’s Gorge summer sendoff.

Dave Matthews Band also brought plenty of its live tricks, including a fakeout of Walk Around the Moon single “Madman’s Eyes” that instead took a sharp detour into “Minarets” on night one. The band also included nods to its influences with interpolations of songs by Led ZeppelinLittle FeatEric Clapton, and more inserted into the band’s original compositions. For Saturday’s encore, frontman Dave Matthews gave a nod to fellow ’90s hitmakers Pearl Jam with a cover of “Just Breathe” before closing out the weekend with “Grey Street”.
