The original Electric Light Orchestra, acclaimed for its fusions of prog-rock, pop, and classical music, disbanded in 1986. From there, Lynne went on to become one of the most sought-after producers in rock music. He worked extensively with George Harrison and even produced the two “new” Beatles songs included in their 1995–1996 Anthology series. Lynne also formed The Traveling Wilburys supergroup alongside Harrison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, and Roy Orbison. Lynne revived the ELO name in 2001 for the album Zoom and in 2014 launched Jeff Lynne’s ELO. The singer/guitarist/producer is the only remaining original member of Electric Light Orchestra in the lineup and has led the band through two albums of new material—2015’s Alone in the Universe and 2019’s From Out of Nowhere—and a string of well-received tours.
