Over the past 60 years, Grateful Dead concerts have unexpectedly become a place for families to gather and engage in cross-generational bonding, but they haven’t always provided the most kid-friendly environment. This Saturday, though, Deadhead parents will have the chance to introduce their tykes to the greatest band in the land at Saturday Morning Tunes: Grateful Dead for Kids in College Park, MD.

Presented by The Clarice and Clarice Presents with support from the Maryland State Arts Council and The Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation, the Grateful Dead for Kids concert will take place bright and early at 10:00 a.m. at Dekelboum Concert Hall and feature drummer Ed Hough’s Dead Collective. Among the lineup are jam veterans Mookie Siegel (Phil Lesh & Friends, Rat Dog), Butchy Sochorow (Splintered Sunlight), David Markowitz (The Bridge), and Tim Pruitt.
