Happy Birthday Marc Brownstein: The Disco Biscuits Live At Gathering Of The Vibes 2001

358

Today is The Disco Biscuits bassist Marc Brownstein’s 46th birthday. In addition to his Bisco bass duties and side projects like the recently debuted Star Kitchen, Brownie also serves as co-chair and was a co-founder of the voter registration non-profit HeadCount. While he’s been involved in many creative endeavors during his professional career, it’s with tDB that Brownie’s been laying down the lowend for the longest.

In celebration of Brownstein’s birthday, below is pro-shot video footage of the Disco Biscuits complete set at the 2001 Gathering Of The Vibes music festival in Red Hook, New York. The band’s performance at the now-defunct festival was held at Greig Farm on June 29, 2001. The five-song appearance was made up of now-classics “Spy,” “Above The Waves,” “Munchkin Invasion” and “7-11” the last of which was followed by a “Basis For A Day” tease. The lesser-played “The Thieving Magpie” was played to close out Bisco’s GOTV set that year.
