The Peep Tempel are officially back together, having announced that they will undertake a reunion tour in March 2025 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of their second album Tales – which was released exactly 10 years ago today (October 3rd) in 2014. They will be joined by Perth punk band Last Quokka for all shows. Their full tour dates, as well as ticketing information, can be found below.

The announcement follows what was believed to be a one-off reunion for the band back in February, where they played as part of this year’s OK Motels in Charlton, Victoria. In a press statement, frontman Blake Scott said that Tales was “a particularly special record” for the band. “We weren’t sure we’d make another one at the time,” he said.

“[We] definitely had the second album blues for a time. I remember we came up with ‘Big Fish’ and ‘Carol’ in an arvo, which got us rolling. This album – and, of course, ‘Carol’ – changed everything for us, and it’s nice to tip our hats to it and get together and play some shows.”

Tales is also being reissued on vinyl, which Scott remarked was “overdue”. “[It’s] been out of press for awhile,” he continued. “People all over the world are still discovering this record, so we’d like to make it available to them to enjoy as a tangible object as opposed to a stream. Tim Molloy’s artwork is incredible. It’s a good album, and now you can get it in pink. [That’s] the colour of unconditional love, friendship and conviviality, which is what we all need. Especially the characters on this record.”

The Peep Tempel released a third album, 2016’s Joy, almost exactly two years after the release of Tales before splitting up in 2017. Since then, Scott has gone onto a solo career, releasing his Australian Music Prizenominated solo debut Niscitam in 2020. Drummer Steven Carter and bassist Stewart Rayner, meanwhile, continued playing in the post-punk band Shepparton Airplane – releasing the album Almurta in 2018 and the album Sharks in 2020.
