For those of us who consider the kitchen our favorite room in the house, today is a good day to treat it that way. Amazon’s October Prime Days are upon us and you can update worn-out appliances or treat yourself to something completely new at a discounted price. Here are some kitchen appliances that are worth adding to your cart.

Crock-Pot 8-quart slow cooker

If you’ve been dragging your feet on a slow cooker, today is your day. This one from Crock-Pot (essentially the brand that’s become synonymous with all slow cookers) is a large, family holiday, dinner-ready one. It has an 8-quart capacity and if you take care of it, it’ll last you at least a decade. By the way, taking care of it is extremely easy.

Toshiba rice cooker

A rice cooker sounds like it only cooks one thing, but what you’re also buying is a grain cooker, steamer, and indispensable hands-off cooking machine. This rice cooker from Toshiba has multiple preset functions and cooks up fluffy grains every time. Mine does, anyway.

Hamilton Beach digital kettle

Coming from someone who used to boil all her water in the microwave, electric kettles are amazing. They take mere minutes to come to temperature and you can use them for pour-over coffee, tea, instant soups, or as a great great indoor plant watering can (unheated, of course). This one from Hamilton Beach allows you to select your temperature (and it looks pretty snazzy too).

Instant Pot Pro

That’s right, the Instant Pot is still around. Frankly, with deals like this, I understand why. It’s a 10-in-one multi-cooker, that allows you to steam, slow cook, pressure cook, and apparently make yogurt, among other things. My friends and I made a mean beef ramen in an Instant Pot. It’s nearly worth it just to make that dish.

Hamilton Beach 4-slice toaster

Hamilton Beach has always been a reliable brand that’s more interested in helping you cook than fleecing your wallet, and this toaster is a perfect example. With extra-wide slots to fit your bagels, and two control panels, you have more control over what you toast and how you do it.

Hamilton Beach Belgian waffle maker

Zero things are better than a big fluffy Belgian waffle. This isn’t going to make you a big pot of ramen, but it will bring you unmatched happiness on Saturday mornings. This glorious example of human ingenuity has a rotating handle (ideal for the tallest waffle), and Hamilton Beach was kind enough to think of non-stick dishwasher-safe waffle plates.

Instant Vortex 4-quart air fryer

When it comes to helpful kitchen appliances, the air fryer has quickly climbed the ranks. If you’re in the market for a simple basket style model that will exceed expectations every time, go for this Instant Vortex. This might be the biggest discount I’ve seen on this model yet, and you won’t regret it.

Braun immersion blender kit

When it comes to blending appliances, an immersion blender is the most portable and versatile. This set from Braun features an immersion blender with multiple attachments, including the chopper, whisk, and regular stick blender head. It’s a great deal for a tool that can make whipped cream, baby food, or salsa in the same cooking session, and then pack away a drawer.

Nespresso Vertuo Next

No one can dampen my love for Nespresso and George Clooney. The coffee is good, dammit. And now you can buy a sleek Vertuo Next for yourself and save a bit of cash. Cash that you can use to buy more coffee pods. (Don’t forget to recycle.)

Ninja Professional XL food processor

A good food processor can speed up your everyday cooking or be a helpful sous chef for the holiday cooking you have coming up. The Ninja gives you additional dials so you can slice or julienne, purée, or even make pie dough. It even comes with a blade holder so you can stay organized and safe, and though that might sound like a small detail, it’s a huge help.
