Australian prog-metal trio COG have expanded their continuing ‘Vinyl Tour’ with a fresh show in Brisbane. But it’s not just any show, the gig will be an historic one, christening Brisbane’s new Crowbar venue with its first official live show.
ICYMI, the team who run Crowbar Sydney have rescued embattled Brisbane venue space The Zoo and rebranded it as a shiny new music venue. Crowbar was actually born in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley back in 2012 but shut up shop five years ago, so its new reanimation in the old Zoo space marks a full circle moment for the local live music community.

“We’re returning on Nov 30 to Crowbar Brisbane, the new heartbeat of Brisbane’s live music scene, stepping up where The Zoo left off,” COG said in a press statement.
“This is more than just a gig….consider it your invitation to celebrate the re-birth of an iconic venue, and immerse yourself in the soundscapes that have defined a generation in what will be the final stop on the wildly successful The Vinyl Tour for 2024.”
As part of their The Vinyl Tour Continued, COG will also hit the stage at Crowbar’s Sydney venue as part of its 12th birthday celebrations. That show is already sold out though.
The tour comes in honour of COG’s two studio albums – 2005’s The New Normal and 2008’s Sharing Space – as well as a compilation of the band’s first two EPs titled Just Visiting being reissued on vinyl.
